GlobeCast selects DataMiner for prestigious global service management project
Izegem, August, 2007 - Skyline Communications, leading supplier of multi-vendor network management solutions, announces that it has been awarded a prestigious contract by GlobeCast for the supply of a global DataMiner network management system for the monitoring of the quality and availability of the GlobeCast services. The solution will include installations of DataMiner technology across the globe (including sites such as London, Paris, Singapore and Los Angeles), and will provide GlobeCast with a unique real-time perspective on their entire global operations.Dictated by an ever more competitive market and increasingly complex technical environments, around-the-clock monitoring of service quality and availability has become indispensable for operators who are determined to prevail, and therefore not surprisingly it is one of the killer applications of DataMiner. Because of the unique multi-vendor capabilities of DataMiner, operators can freely choose to deploy just any measurement and quality assessment probes from any vendor, and process the collected information with one powerful standard set of applications, including for example alarming, trending, reporting, automation, correlation, key performance indicator dashboards and real-time service level agreement tracking.
After considering several different technologies available in the market, GlobeCast chose DataMiner as the technology that best enabled them to create end-to-end visibility for its global services. Its powerful multi-vendor capabilities will enable GlobeCast to source data from any type of measurement and quality assessment probe, which is vital for the roll-out today and the operations in the years to come. The platform allows for all kinds of applications such as alarming, notification, reporting, SLA tracking, etc.
"We are extremely honored being selected by this top leading operator, with a five-continent satellite and fiber network, for a global project to manage the quality and availability of all services end-to-end," added Ben Vandenberghe, Sales & Marketing Director at Skyline Communications. "This project really enables us to unleash all the features and capabilities of DataMiner, and it will be a milestone for the network management industry as GlobeCast will be the first to create true real-time global visibility on its entire operations from one single user interface. And this is only possible by combining the dedication of GlobeCast to innovate and to offer its customers unrivaled quality and Skyline's leading DataMiner multi-vendor network management technology."
