The EAP210’s IP50 rated durable metal casing is dustproof, resistant to corrosion, and impervious to fire, allowing it to be placed in any location of office buildings, hotels, or schools, whether visible or hidden. In addition, the EAP210 has three features that further contributes to its deployment flexibility. First, as a selectable dual-band AP, it can operate in either the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz frequency bands, fitting the needs of each individual environment. Second, the 802.3af PoE gigabit Ethernet interface eliminates the need for traditional power sources, allowing the AP to be placed in locations where having wired cabling is difficult. Lastly, the adjustable and removable external antenna allows the antenna angle to be adjusted to provide better service in targeted areas, or swapped out for higher or lower gain needs.
On the performance end, the EAP210 supports up to 300 Mbps data rate with its 2x2:2 MIMO solution, enabling a smooth and uninterrupted multimedia experience. Moreover, the EAP210 supports features for improving performance in high density environments, such as airtime fairness and packet delay threshold. The benefit of the two features is significant – airtime fairness ensures that legacy clients with slower transmission rates do not affect the performance of newer clients, while packet delay threshold prevents clients with poor connectivity from bogging down the entire network. Combining these features with a high transmit power of up to 27 dBm, the EAP210 is a small device that packs a powerful punch.
Finally, the EAP210’s manageability when integrated with 4ipnet WHG-series controllers enables additional value-added functions, such as centralized management of the APs in both Layer 2 and Layer 3 deployments, seamless roaming between APs, load balancing, and guest access.
