On their information trip to companies of the renewable energy sector the expert delegation made a stopover at BBB in Weiden/Bavaria on the 26 July 2013. The delegation consisted of employees of companies of the energy sector and officials from the Vietnamese energy ministry. According to their program, which was tailored by the GIZ - a federal enterprise that supports the German government in achieving its objectives in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development - the guests should be given an insight in methods of analyzing wind resources.

The representatives of BBB’s accredited testing laboratory presented current trends in the area of wind measurement to the guests. Especially the LiDAR measurement method which is based on laser technology created major interest among the visitors. Furthermore a lecture about methods of wind yield calculation was given by Klaus Bergmann, who is one of the general managers and co-founder of BBB. Finally a short summary of the development process of wind energy projects was presented to the guests.

The delegation members were invited by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs to come to Germany and generate new contacts for the further development of the renewable energy sector in Vietnam. Facing the growing demand for energy the Vietnamese government approved a master plan in 2011 for the national energy production that enhances the use of renewable energy sources.
