New Version of M-663 Micropositioning Stage: Benefits of PILine® Drive Technology Popular not Only in Precision Positioning Applications
New version of the M-663 micropositioning stage: Cost-effective with integrated PILine® drive technology
The new linear stage version M-663.5U is especially suited for positioning tasks in automation where a resolution of 0.6 µm and a step size of 2 µm are sufficient. The integrated PILine® linear motor provides push forces to 5 N and a maximum velocity of up to 250 mm/s over a 18 mm travel range.
All stage versions offer the benefits proprietary to the PILine® drive technology: Since ceramic motors feature high holding forces also when at rest, the linear stage ensures excellent positional stability without heat generation, as it would occur with conventional linear motors. The stiff design, direct coupling and fast response times of the piezo ceramic allow for highly dynamic start / stop behavior.
Simultaneously with the launch of the cost-effective stage variant, PI also enhanced the design of the high-precision, 0.1 µm resolution positioning stage: Drive and guiding have been decoupled and with this the guiding accuracy of the linear stages has been improved.

New piezo nanopositioning system: versatile, fast and compact with large clear a …
Large clear aperture, high control dynamics, fast settling times and compact dimensions: PI launches a new product line of linear nanopositioning systems for a broad range of applications. The P-630 stages are perfectly suited, e.g. for use in sensor heads or precision motion of objects in optical and tactile metrology as well as for microstructuring. With travel ranges up to 80 µm and a direct piezo actuator drive, the compact positioning
2 mm Travel Range - 20 Milliseconds Settling Time: New Objective Scanner with Pi …
New microscopy methods, such as two-photon microscopy, make it possible to record 3D stacks with up to 1 mm depth in biological samples. For this they require high-performance drives for positioning the objectives. PI (Physik Instrumente) now developed the new N-725 PIFOC® objective scanner with piezo stepping drives especially for position-ing microscopy objectives. The N-725 provides travel ranges of up to 2 mm along the optical axis. At the same time
Small Size and High Resolution: New Miniature Stage is Only 24 mm Wide at a Reso …
Physik Instrumente (PI) has introduced the new LPS-24 series. At only 24 × 33 × 20 mm³, these new miniature positioning stages provide a travel range of 15 mm with nanometer-precision resolution. The LPS-24 stages fulfil important requirements for the positioning of optical or mechanical components or for the adjustment and manipulation of samples in application environments with a confined space. For the LPS-24 series, PI uses NEXACT® piezo stepping drives. These
Modular Hexapod System for Fast, Economic and Precise Positioning
PI presents a modular concept for six-axis positioning systems. Due to its modularity, the high-precision parallel kinematics can be adapted fast and efficiently to customer requirements. The six identical Hexapod struts are designed such that their length can be easily scaled. They include the required electronics for reference point switches, limit switches, position sensors and electronic commutation for the brushless DC motors. Their standardized joints allow to combine them with almost

Fast and Efficient Positioning Drives
PI (Physik Instrumente), the Karlsruhe-based specialist for piezoceramic drive and positioning systems, offers ultrasonic piezomotors for different performance classes with their PILine series. Users can integrate these in stages themselves. The operation of ultrasonic piezomotors requires electronics that generate high-frequency AC voltage to excite the piezoelectric actuator to oscillations. The C-872 universal drive electronics is suitable for the entire range of PILine drives. A new type of power transfer prevents
Low-Profile Vacuum Precision Stage
Confined spaces in vacuum chambers require drives and positioning solutions which are particularly compact. With a height of only 21 mm the M-683.2V4 translation stage from Physik Instrumente (PI) is one of the flattest micro-translation stages on the market, and is now also available for use in vacuum environments to 10-6 mbar. An encoder resolution of 0.1 µm over 50 mm travel makes it ideal for tasks requiring a high
Ultra-Low-Profile Precision Rotation Stage Thanks to PILine® Technology
With just 15 mm construction height, the M-660 rotation stage from Physik Instrumente (PI) is one of the slimmest micro translation stages on the market. A new version with a higher position resolution of 4 µrad now offers further application possibilities, for example in accurate inspection tasks. The new M-660.45 stage has a clear aperture of 35 mm in diameter. Compact combinations with linear stages are possible. The unique PILine®
Precise and Stable M-687 Microscopy Stages with Direct Drive
Physik Instrumente (PI) offers a new, fast, high-precision XY positioning system which has been optimized for applications with inverse microscopes: The M-687 XY stage. This stage provides travel ranges of up to 100 x 75 mm, and its large clear apertures of up to 160 x 100 mm can hold specimen holders as well as Z systems for specimen scanning. The currently available models can be used for inverse microscopes
