Vila Real de Santo Antonio- 25 June 2022- In a unique collaboration between YouTube Channel "American in Portugal" and Author Sandra Penny McCallum the creators present beautiful words from Sandra's poetry about Portugal with video images of the Algarve bringing the poetry to life. Viewers can see the images which sparked the creative vibe of the author and can share in the inspiration and love of living and retiring in Portugal.
The expatriate community in Portugal continues to grow each year and many who choose to retire in Portugal find their creativity enhanced and these two are sharing their experience, talents and gifts though a variety of mediums. You're invited to watch, enjoy and perhaps become inspired yourself to embark on a new project.
In a special interview at the end of the video, Sandra shares her journey from thinking about the words to crafting the poems and then the publication of her new book entitled "Poets, Plato and Pussycats". YouTube creator Veronica Ondrejech interviews Sandra and they laugh as they share their experiences of immigrating and living in Portugal after the poem. "Have you tried the unique Portuguese wine "Vinho Verde" or "Vino Green-O" they explain. Viewers who continue to watch past the official end of the video are treated with outtakes and extra clips around the Algarve with assistant director Cynthia Clark who stars in other videos on the channel highlighting life in the Algarve. Twixt pastel villas standing tall there amongst one finds
Fields of Goats and horses, dogs and little cats
Fruits trees, dusty paddocks, villagers doing this and that.

With kids and cases, produce, and boxes piled high
Worn Leather bridles, carts drawn by horse or donkey old and thin
The gypsy folk command the and the community therin

To drink the drink and eat the eat, it's really not expensive
With cup of tea I sit and write; and feeling rather pensive
The Port, wine, olives, fish, and such fit truly for a king
Sup up ex-pats, enjoy yourselves; for life is everything.
