BITSAA Chairperson Harsh Bhargava Clarion Call for BGM 2023 Jaipur Kumbh Mela for BITS Pilani alumni

BITSAA Global Meet is organised by BITS Alumni every 3 years. BITSAA Global Meet (BGM) 5.0 will be held in Jaipur on 6th, 7th, 8th January 2023 at Birla Auditorium, Jaipur. BGM is the equivalent of a Kumbh Mela for all Proud to be BITSians who are the alumni of BITS Pilani from various campuses as well as the seamless Work Integrated Learning Programs - WILP. It is a matter of great pride that present Vice Chancellor of BITS Pilani had himself been an enrolled student of WILP ME(Collaborative) Project Engineering program at DCPL Kolkata during 1982-1983.

BGM 5.0 logo design by Proud to be BITSian Praveen Bali 1980-84 BE (Hons) Mechanical bagged the honours. Peacock was chosen as its near and dear to all BITSians apart from being the national bird. The peacock posture was to bring out the festivity and the four wings were to represent to the four campuses of BITS with the four colours to bring out the colours of bright turbans worn by people of Rajasthan. With the logo concept well in place, BITSian Amit Sheth and his team who spearhead the PR for BGM gave the finishing touches. BITSAA Jaipur creative agency partner Mohit Goswami ATLT Inc gave the final version which stole the hearts of one and all.

As BGM'23 is being hosted by BITSAA Jaipur Chapter, the preparations had a kick-start to unveil the Logo for BGM'23 by BGM Advisory Committee on Saturday, 14-05-2022 at Ashok Club, Jaipur in presence of Mr. Kailash Gupta, Chairman, Mr. Alok Jain, CEO and all the members of Core Organizing Committee. In yet another colourful function on 29 May 2022 at Diggi Palace Jaipur graced by Vice Chancellor Prof. Souvik Bhattacharyya, the commencement of Registrations for BGM was announced.

Peaking with Passion for Alma mater Harsh Bhargava is the present Chairperson of BITSAA. Harsh had done his BE (Hons) Electronics from BITS Pilani 1968-1973. Subsequently he had done MTech from IIT KANPUR, mms FROM Osmania University and also qualified from Naval PG School California USA. Presently he is Adjunct Professor at Vishwa Vishwani Institute of Systems and Management Hyderabad. He had also been Visiting Professor IBS Hyderabad, Professor at ICFAI Business School, Lead Partner Byrraju Foundation and Commodore Indian Navy.

An avid Golf Player, Harsh is also an active Volunteer Wellness Coach in a Polyclinic for Armed Forces Veterans and their families. A keen photographer, hiker and birder his blog www.ghumakkadhb.blogspot.com has global readership with 200,000 page views. His passion for anything-BITS-anytime led to the publication of the book titled 'BITS of Success' which was released during BGM-14 and later went into reprint.
