We all witnessed twenty-years of war in Afghanistan, a period wherein thousands of people were killed - including many international force members and casualties to Taliban militants. However, the civilians paid the high price in terms of death rate.

Following calls for reduction of forces with the hope of stabilizing the worsening situation at the time, the opposition groups on the battle ground would look to soft targets. The places were mosques, hospitals, and schools. Imagine, living in Afghanistan during this period.

Today, many struggles still exist under the Taliban rule such as all girls schools closed, men forced to grow their beard, and women not allowed to take part in civic roles. The war degraded significantly, mainly due to power grab by the Taliban, however; idealogical of the Taliban towards people in Afghanistan is something that needs attention.

I still have hope and everywhere I see the struggle for Afghanistan people to live in peace and tranquility as it continues, but a wider attention is needed in order to help them fast.
