Hands-On Healthcare: Raising Awareness for Cancer With Victoria Eames' Kind Hearts Give Back Charity Ball

For a lot of people, cancer is such a distant threat that we don't really think about it until someone in our family is diagnosed. One out of 4 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer at some point in their lives. Victoria Eames, the convener of the Kind Hearts Give Back Charity Ball who was diagnosed with cervical cancer over 10 years ago is playing an incredible role of raising cancer awareness across the UK and in her words, she has "managed to kick cancer's behind." But many others aren't as lucky!

The Kind Hearts Give Back Charity Ball is an annual event to raise cancer awareness and raise money to support charities and organisations working towards finding cure for cancer. Victoria and her team are raising money to support this cause. The Kind Hearts Give Back charity wants to provide people with a place where they can feel like they are not alone when they share their cancer stories. The hope is that this event will show others how important it is for them to support people with cancer.

Frank Collins, Director of Hands-On Healthcare, one of the sponsors of this year's event shared his thoughts on why Hands-On Healthcare has decided to support this year's event and why businesses and individuals need to work together to fight this battle against cancer.

This year's charity ball had performances from UK's leading singers, dancers and performers. The highlight of the event was a performance by Victoria and her dance crew in honour of Henry Love, a Doncaster radio DJ who passed a way from cancer a few months ago. As many of the bereaved family members shared their touching stories of losing a loved one, attendees were emotional with some close to tears.

From the red carpet to dinner and again to close out the night on the dance floor there were plenty of amazing moments to capture.

The KHGB charity ball offers the opportunity to all types of cancer survivors, those who have lost their families to cancer to once again experience a night out where they could tell their story, inspire and encourage people. The night offered people the chance to reflect on the pain of losing a loved one or life after a cancer diagnosis. For a lot of attendees, last night's event was a type of emotional therapy and also an opportunity to celebrate the gift of life.
