VELOX partners Völpker for lignite waxes in Europe

As of 1 April 2013 VELOX GmbH launches a new cooperation with Völpker Spezialprodukte GmbH for the distribution of lignite waxes in the European plastics industry.

Lignite waxes have been used for years as high-performance additives in the plastics industry thanks to their special characteristics. They act as internal and external friction reducers: on the one hand they which lower friction between polymer particles, thus improving polymer flow characteristics; on the other, lignite waxes also act at the polymer-tool interface as a demoulding agent.

“The special characteristics of lignite waxes are used in many plastics formulations. This means that lignite waxes are a perfect fit in our portfolio”, says Nadia Kursawe, Business Manager Additives at VELOX GmbH.

Völpker Spezialprodukte GmbH was founded as long ago as 1900. Thanks to its many years of experience, the lignite wax plant in Völpke has one of the longest traditions in wax production in Europe. What is more, the company’s flexible production line for the manufacture of individual speciality waxes based on a variety of source materials including other waxes, also means Völpker is in a position to fulfil very specific customer requirements.
