Launch of Qombina.eu

St-Blaise (Switzerland). Frequency Combs are laser devices which emit
light in a wide spectrum consisting of equidistant peaks in frequency
space. Such devices have been demonstrated for over two decades now,
with the 2005 Nobel prize for physics going to the team that first
demonstrated them. Alpes Lasers SA, a major producer of Frequency
Combs in the mid-infrared, launches a dissemination campaign to improve
general knowledge of frequency combs under the FET QOMBINA project,
which follows up on R&D work performed in the FET project "QOMBS" with
various partners.
In particular, we announce the launch of the website https://qombina.eu/
which serves as a central repository of information on mid-infrared
frequency combs, as well as an accompanying social media campaign to
disseminate information and news from the field, including both academic
and commercial sources.
In addition to the dissemination aspect, information gathered through the
QOMBINA project will be used to produce a roadmap of future product
development to ensure the needs of potential markets, such as
spectroscopy, lidars and health application, can be met suitably in the
coming years.
