Robust mobility

Mobile devices that are designed to record, control and transmit data outdoors have to fulfil many different functions. This makes it all the more relevant to think in terms of form and function. The enclosures by OKW are comfortable to hold, have a robust construction and are already available in specific plastic materials from stock. However, for particular properties of the parts, such as improved chemical resistance, flame resistance or individual colouring, OKW can also produce the enclosure in other materials and colours to meet customers‘ individual requirements.

The HAND-TERMINAL, for example, is ideally suited for use in rough conditions. Its ergonomic form guarantees a reliable, secure grip during operation – even with gloves. In addition, the positioning of the battery compartment (4x AA, 1x or 2x 9V) in the centre of the enclosure ensures optimum weight distribution, and thus promotes carrying comfort during everyday work. The material used is an impact-resistant blend of PC and ABS (UL 94 V-0). The HAND-TERMINAL offers protection up to IP 65, is 220 x 120 x 65 mm (L x W x H) in size and is available in 2 versions: with a closed top part or with a recess for aluminium front panels. This allows the electronics to be completely preassembled on the front panel.

A further classic example is the CARRYTEC series of enclosures in 3 different sizes (L x W x H): 222 x 205 x 80 mm (S), 270 x 247 x 91 mm (M) and version L in 348 x 303 x 117 mm. The main features here are the functional carrying handle as well as a large surface that can be used for user interfaces. A soft TPE insert in the handle ensures a perfect, non-slip grip. Alternatively, the CARRYTEC is available with/without a battery compartment for 5x AA and with protection class IP 65. Flat, impact-protected areas are ideal for installing interfaces etc. For the smallest S version, protective side pockets are also available for the safekeeping of utensils or for preconnecting interfaces. Eyelets are fitted to each of the side pockets; the matching shoulder strap with shoulder padding as well as a table stand/wall suspension element are available as accessories. The CARRYTEC is available from stock in reinforced, impact-resistant ASA+PC plastic (UL 94 V-0). This material offers high UV and thermoforming resistance. A further advantage is its chlorine, bromine and antimony-free flame-retardant capability, which allows it to comply sustainably with environmental directives such as RoHS and REACH.
