Motion Capturing - 6 DOF in realtime: Determining location and position with the new wireless Mini Triplet Beacon

The new realtime transmitter system for absolute positions, the nexonar Mini Triplet Beacon, serves to measure movements with six degrees of freedom. As a wireless triple transmitter, it is now available stands for your motion-capture applications. It was developed to enable motion detection in a minimum of space. The component contains the entire control electronics and can be offered in different housings. The Mini Triplet Beacon can thus be adapted to your applications.

The nexonar Mini Triplet Beacon can be worn, for example, using a Velcro strip on a human arm or used as an adjunct in existing nexonar installations. It is immediately available to work per ultrasound with the nexonar receiver system and the 3DListener.

For dynamic and static measurements, the reception area was expanded by 300 mm to 1500 mm.

The nexonar 3DListener is used to calculate dynamic as well as static 3D absolute positions on the basis of ultrasonic signals from the nexonar Beacons or the nexonar Probe. The receiver unit analyzes the ultrasonic sound emitted by the nexonar Beacons on the run-time principle and generates 3D absolute coordinates. This then forwards them via a USB interface to the measurement applications on a Windows PC. It can be used for up to four signal transmitters, per 3DListener.

The angle of aperture of the 3DListeners is about 140° at a measurement distance of 300-1500 mm. It can thus be placed at a short distance from the object to be measured. This means a small footprint when compared to many other optical 3D measuring systems.
