LINQ 2013 Conference to take place at UN FAO Headquarters
The 2nd European Conference on "Learning Innovations and Quality" (LINQ 2013) on May 16th and 17th will take place at the Global Headquarters of the United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Rome, Italy. The Global Headquarters of the FAO will provide an ideal location for LINQ 2013. Situated near the impressive Circus Maximus, the first and largest stadium in the Roman Empire, the expansive facilities will ensure that the participants of LINQ 2013 are able to devote appropriate facilities to the different strands of the conference. Furthermore, the FAO’s crucial efforts in the development of global standards in food and agriculture related policies, including training and education in said fields, emphasises the venue’s appropriateness for LINQ 2013.
“The FAO has honoured LINQ by offering their global headquarter for conference purposes,” says Christian M. Stracke, LINQ Conference Chair and international ISO Convener for learning quality from the University of Duisburg-Essen. “This collaboration is indicative in part of the shared goals between LINQ and the FAO – techniques in learning, training, and the sharing of knowledge in methods and processes of agriculture and food production correspond excellently to LINQ’s scope. They in turn coincide with FAO’s commitment to sustainability and the development of national capacities for the generation and analysis of agricultural statistics.”
The international variety of submissions received, originating in Europe, Asia, America, and Africa, demonstrates a continuation of the acute interest which began with LINQ 2012 last year in Brussels. This year LINQ 2013 and its motto "Innovations and Quality: The Future of Digital Resources" addresses and invites experts active in the field of Innovations and Quality in Lifelong Learning (LLL). Potential points of access to this field include new learning methods and design, Technology-Enhanced Learning (TEL), quality standards and certification, human resources development, competences and skills, digital resources, learning materials, and online collaboration and communities.
