KISS Communications sponsors Young People of the Year 2013 (YOPEY) Award
KISS Communications is delighted to announce its sponsorship of Young People of the Year 2013 (YOPEY). The initiative aims to reveal, recognise and reward Cambridgeshire’s young heroes, and aims to give young people a fairer image in the media and society. The annual event is to highlight young people aged from 10 to 25 who are actively doing positive things in the region, recognising them publicly, and rewarding the very best. The award winners can then become positive role models (PRMs) and inspire younger generations to make better choices as they grow up. Entries come from all backgrounds and from a diverse range of organisations, from schools, sports clubs, youth organisations to charities and churches. Some people enter themselves or are nominated by their families and friends.
Justine Smith, PR Director at KISS has an active interest in supporting young people and providing opportunities for personal growth and achievement. Commenting on the sponsorship, Justine said: “YOPEY is a great way of recognising the amazing efforts of the young people in our community. From raising money for charities, volunteering, to inspiring others, the awards are an effective way of rewarding young people for their achievement and motivating others to show what can be done with the right mind set.”
Tony Gearing, founder of YOPEY said, “We are very grateful to KISS Communications coming aboard as a sponsor to help us campaign. There are many young people in Cambs doing wonderful things for others. It’s just that they live in the shadow of a well-publicised anti-social minority. ”
As one of the region’s top marketing agencies and as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), KISS supports a number of community-based initiatives, including Cambridgeshire Community Foundation, the Herts Chamber of Commerce, Inspiring Herts Awards 2013, Social Enterprise East of England (SEEE), and The Muscle Help Foundation.
The Cambs Young Person of the Year will win £800, from which they will keep £400 and £400 will go to their good cause. The second place will win £400, shared similarly.
Other YOPEY sponsors include CSR, Hutchinsons, Linx Printing Technologies, Peterborough City Council, ARM, LifePlus Europe, Stratagem, The Micron Group, G’s and TTP Group.
KISS works with a wide range of blue chip clients from the region, including Anglian Water, Bokomo Foods UK, PlastiKote, Booking.com, Johnson Matthey, Bosch, SISK and Maersk, and successful SMEs including One Nucleus, Balancing Blooms, Horizon Discovery, IMRG, Real-Status, Intergence, and Cambridge Past, Present & Future.
