DJs across the world are mixing together sounds and vocals creating music like dub-step and techno that club-goers go crazy for. There’s no doubt that club music has broken into pop culture and it’s here to stay, but the DJ industry itself can be hard to break into. The Boston Center for Adult Education (BCAE) has created a class that teaches students everything they need to know about how to become a DJ and make their mark with “Scratch, Mix & Fade: Intro to Club DJ Essentials,” a four session class beginning Tuesday, April 2nd, 2013 from 7:30PM to 9:30PM.

Dance music veteran Paul Dailey has been in the business for 20 years playing in various cities from New York City to Minneapolis, also spending some time as a radio mix show DJ. In this four session class he will teach students the basics of being a DJ using his years of experience in different areas of the industry. The first three sessions will involve lessons on how to cue and scratch and what exactly a “mix” is. The last session will include a trip to a Boston nightclub where Dailey will show the students how to read a crowd and how to book a job.

Spending your time in the crowd of a busy club is always fun, but learning what it’s like on the other side is a whole new experience. Join the Boston Center for Adult Education to learn how to create sounds of a new generation.
