The Artistry
KIMONO WALLET is manufactured using two traditional artisan techniques in Japan, Kata-Yuzen (Yuzen dyeing with patterns) and Hand-Drawn Yuzen.
Our professional Yuzen artisans are handcrafting each wallet one at a time.
First, the lather is placed on a specialized device where Yuzen colors will be applied one by one. By overlapping the colors one at a time we create vivid shades and give depth to the pattern.
Next, professional artisans hand-draw with brushstrokes to add depth into the patterns and enrich the beauty of the wallet. Skilled craftsmen carefully color one by one to bring out the softness and warmth of the patterns.
