Edeltrude Arleitner
The Styrian sculptors work has achieved already several awards on occasion of international competitions. Her works of clay, sand and water show the external structures of an urban landscape. She apprehends cities as large construction kit of ashlars, cones, cylinders and cubes. The residents seem to adapt to the environment. So stable these forms seem, so delicate and fragile they are in this "seeking to go beyond" – and the human?

Herwig Maria Stark
In LOOPING STATE OF MIND a society is portrayed that has strayed from the real world. In which the city as a living space, no longer matters. His actors live and act in new virtual spaces. They are bohemians of a new generation. They live their unbridled passions, playing with the symbols of wealth, luxury and power and show no interest in existing structures. They are children of the “I-will-have-and-I-am” society.

The city is a centralized, zoned large settlement with its own administrative, government and healthcare structure and is located at the intersection of major roads. To survive in this highly dense environment, the human as an individual is forced to develop his personality extremely.

This exhibition is the second of a three part series of exhibitions by BIENNALE AUSTRIA association presenting the approach of six Austrian artists on this topic.
