Press release from: Twickenham Experience Ltd

On the 9th August Twickenham Stadium - the home of England Rugby - will be celebrating its 100th birthday.

As the world's largest dedicated rugby stadium, this iconic sporting venue has seen many changes since its opening in 1907 and now stands today as one of the most modern event venues in the UK.

In the last year alone, Twickenham Experience, the official provider of corporate hospitality and conference and banqueting at Twickenham Stadium has hosted 1,275 non-match day events including a variety of meetings, conferences and dinners. They also managed 15 match day events. As well as sporting fixtures the stadium plays host to a number of other events including concerts, The Rolling Stones and Rod Stewart, just some of the acts that have already featured this year.

Kevin Maxwell, Sales and Marketing Director, Twickenham Experience said: "We are really pleased with the number of clients wanting to hold their events at Twickenham. This highlights the stadium as the ultimate destination for both business and sport.

Enquiries and bookings are expected to rise further not only in the next few weeks with the Rugby World Cup approaching but also with the development of the South Stand set to open Autumn 2008, accommodating an additional 5000m2 of conference and exhibition space and the opening of a four star Marriot hotel.
