Pet Project Malaysia 2013

Press release from: Mongoose Publishing

To be held on 23rd March, 2013 (from 9am to 6pm) at The British International School of Kuala Lumpur in association with Expatriate Lifestyle, Pet Project Malaysia is BACK and we are once again “Getting Active to Help Save Animals”.

Created in 2011, this is an event to unify the community in supporting animal welfare by doing something FUN and proactive. This event is open to the public and we encourage everyone to enjoy the available activities together while learning about ways to support animal welfare in the country.

Last year we raised over RM23,000 for the cause (in support of over nine animal welfare NGOs across Malaysia) through dance, fitness and sports. With your help in helping us spread the word, we hope to raise even more funds and awareness for our NGOs in an even bigger event this year!

Pet Project Malaysia will once again be bringing you the top international and local dance, fitness and athletic names to help bring awareness to the cause. Expect to see some of the best international choreographers (such as Tony Stone, Suzette Ackermann, Sabrina Saw, Les Mills master presenters) and athletes teach master classes open to the public as well as various sports clinics such as golf, basketball, rugby, football and rock climbing. Also, there will be a carnival, shopping bazaar, auction, food and beverage, arts and crafts, performances, cat shows, sponsors booths and of course our NGO booths where participants can learn more about both wild and domesticated animals. There is something for everyone! All funds raised on the day will be donated straight to our participating NGOs. This is strictly a non-profit event.

Coupon books will be available for sale at RM50/book (25 coupons each book) on the day of the event and all activities on the day will be running on a coupon system to ensure a smooth flow of events. (For example, master classes range from 5-10 coupons per session while rock climbing is 2 coupons per climb, etc.). All funds collected from coupon sales will be donated straight to our participating NGOs while at the same time, donations may also be made directly to our participating NGOs.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our partners, media partners and current sponsors (Expatriate Lifestyle, The British International School of Kuala Lumpur, Nuffnang, Petster, Wagazine, Newborn Pixs, Citygolf and Les Mills Asia-Pacific). For the second year, these truly supportive companies and associations have helped us in raising awareness proactively for the cause and the NGOs on board with the project. It is also with great pride to be supporting various NGOs across the country including SPCA Selangor, H.O.P.E., SCRATCH, Petfinder.my, Kelab Kucing Malaysia and Tree Theatre Group.

We need your help. This project sees over 300 school children perform (from both local and international schools and associations such as SK Bukit Damansara, SMK Hartamas, Girl Guides Association, The British International School of Kuala Lumpur, Nexus International School, Sunway Pyramid Ice, Kolej Tuanku Jaafar, to name a few). There is a LOT of involvement within the community but we still need your support in helping us reach the masses. We are now actively looking for potential sponsors, donors and vendors (merchandise and F&B). Those wishing to get involved with this unique project may contact info@sabrinasaw.com or visit our project website (www.thepetprojectmalaysia.org) for more details.

Thank you, once again, for your genuine support. We are so excited to be bringing this project back to you.

Let’s have some fun!

For the animals,

Sabrina Saw, Creator of Pet Project Malaysia
On behalf of The Pet Project Malaysia 2013 Team
