Keeping a QuickBooks File from Falling Apart

12-18-2021 09:26 PM CET | Business, Economy, Finances, Banking & Insurance

Press release from: E-Tech

Kingston, December 19, 2021: QuickBooks comes equipped with effective tools that safeguard and protect sensitive data contained in a file.
The Verify and Rebuild tool must be run atleast once a quarter to ensure there are no errors within a data file. If errors are found, the Rebuild tool will clean up those errors. Upgrading QuickBooks is more than just a money grab. With each major release, there are new tax laws and software fixes added. This is true when a major release of the hosting platform is put into play. Even though upgrading QuickBooks can be quite costly, the amount of lost time and productivity with not having a working QuickBooks solution could be far worse.

A broken QuickBooks installation uninstall will only worsen matters and cause subsequent installations to fail. After the uninstall, it is recommended to go through the directory structure and delete any leftover files.
An insecure network opens the door to data theft and loss. When new security measures are thrown at a network without considering QuickBooks, the connection between client and server could be at risk. Consider putting QuickBooks on an internal network disconnected from the outside world.

In the event of a damaged file, optimizing the file and copying all data into a new data file would help in removing unwanted temporary data and bringing down file size by 25 to 40 percent.
