Taj Palace Dubai Takes On the Festive Glow

It’s the season to be merry. The guests and staff of Taj Palace Dubai got together for a traditional Christmas Tree lighting ceremony held earlier this week. The event took place in the beautiful lobby of the hotel with a surprised little girl selected from the gathering to help Mr. Ahmed Badawy, Director of Finance, Taj Palace Dubai press the button that lighted the tree.

After the Christmas lights were illuminated there was a special party. The occasion was marked by all things festive from carols and cakes to cookies and goodies. The centrepiece was a large gingerbread house.

According to Mr Badawy, “It is wonderful to see people from all nationalities come together to celebrate the season of good cheer. It is a great moment with Christmas and New Year just round the corner. We have got everything you need to make this season jolly.”

A menu devised to cater to every member of the family is indeed the hallmark of celebrations at the Taj Palace Dubai.

Featuring seasonal delights is an international buffet on Christmas Eve, available at Le Rendezvous restaurant where prices start from AED135 per person, inclusive of soft drinks, or just AED250 for a couple. In addition, the cost for children between six and 12 is just AED59 while those under the age of six dine free.

On the Big Day itself, chefs at the Taj Palace have excelled themselves to devise a buffet that is big on choice and flavor, served between noon and 4pm – prices here are AED145 per adult and AED59 for children, with no charge for tiny tots below six.

In addition, those wishing to indulge in specialty dining during the festivities can opt for Northern Indian, Japanese and Asian, Arabic or Italian cuisines, available as usual at the Handi, Sakura, Al Waha and Verdi restaurants.

Ringing in the New Year, the hotel will set up a gala dinner buffet with live cooking stations located in the specialty restaurants to offer diners an extensive range of delicious dishes as well as a celebratory midnight countdown and balloon drop in the lobby at midnight.

Price for the night, running from 7.30pm through to 1am and inclusive of soft drinks, chilled juices and bottled water, is AED230 per adult, AED430 per couple and AED110 for children aged between six and 12, with younger children eating free.

According to Samer Abiad, Director of Food & Beverage, the emphasis for the festive season is to bring together families who can enjoy five-star cuisine and service at a value price: “The bonus we can offer is stress-free celebrations, for both adults and children,” he said.
