Nelson, has been named Chairman of the City of Fort Lauderdale Code Enforcement Board, the body that hears and decides cases of alleged building code violations. Mr. Nelson has been a member of the Board since 2008.

As Chair of Bilzin Sumberg's Environmental Practice, Mr. Nelson has over 20 years of experience in environmental and land use law and represents clients throughout all phases of the development process as well as in permit appeals and environmental enforcement matters. He also represents clients in complex wetland matters and assists property owners in navigating the maze of local, state and federal wetland permitting.

Mr. Nelson is frequently recognized by national publications including Chambers USA and most recently, The Best Lawyers in America. In addition to maintaining a successful practice, Mr. Nelson is Co-Chair of the Environmental Sub-Committee of the Builders Association of South Florida (BASF), a member of the South Florida Association of Environmental Professionals Board of Directors, and a former Chair of the Broward County Brownfields Redevelopment Task Force.
