Thirukumar Nadarasa Appointed As CEO Of Hutch Sri Lanka

Hutchison Asia Telecommunications Ltd, Hongkong has announced the appointment of Mr. Thirukumar Nadarasa as the CEO of Hutch Sri Lanka with immediate effect.

Thiru is a 20 year industry veteran who has worked for Hutchison Telecom, Hongkong for 14 yrs and another 4 yrs with Singapore Telecom. He has recently completed an assignment in the Middle East deploying GSM networks into the Central Africa region.

Thiru is also no stranger to the telecom industry in Sri Lanka, as he also had the honour of being the CEO for 5 yrs (from 2002 – 2007) when he launched the Hutch GSM network in 2004. His efforts made Hutch a household name during the early stages of its GSM operation prior to his secondment to the Hutchison Telecom’s Vietnam operations.

Thiru has a degree in Electronic Engineering from Loughborough University, UK and two Masters in Management Science and Telecommunications Technology from Imperial College London and Aston University, Birmingham respectively. Mr Thirukumar brings in a wealth of experience that spans over 20 years of exposure in the Asian and African region.

Mr Thirukumar, commenting on this appointment, stated ‘I am pleased to be returning to Hutch Sri Lanka again to lead it to the next chapter of its development. Hutch has recently invested in one of the largest and most advanced 3G networks that already covers all 25 districts of Sri Lanka.
