KIZILAY (RED CRESCENT), to use cargo drones for urgent deliveries and medical equipment

Terra Drone Turkey announced an agreement with Red Crescent Logistics, the world's leading logistics company based on medical equipment and blood delivery, today.

The purpose of this MoU is to record formally this mutual interest of TDT and KIZILAY to collaborate and explore the benefits of use of drone infrastructure such as TDT Vertical Station, infrastructure, various UAVs and KIZILAY’s expertise, network in Turkey and abroad for a period of 3 years following signature of this MoU.

Both companies are also discussing mutual exclusivity for drone deliveries in selected industries and markets.

Turkish Red Crescent President Mr. Kerem KINIK, in a speech he made in Antalya, Turkey 2 years ago, stated that they were doing R&D for 'drone' technology in blood delivery and revealed their vision.

He stated that their goal is to be a first in the world and that they will deploy the most up-to-date and most widespread corporate automation system in this direction.

This agreement has also shown how much importance it attaches to works in line with the vision announced 2 years ago.

Terra Drone Turkey Business Development Senior Director Cenk YILDIZ said in a statement that Terra Drone Corporation, which was founded in Japan in 2016, is one of the largest drone service providers in the world and that the basic strategy of Terra Drone is to combine cutting-edge technology, with local know-how, by acquiring the best local drone service providers globally.

“We are extremely excited that Terra Drone has been selected by KIZILAY Logistics, the world's largest provider of medical logistics and blood distribution, as the first drone partner with a mutually exclusive partnership in selected industries and markets. I must state that while this partnership continues to manufacture and operate a large number of different types of drones including VTOLs and heavy payload drones, to support the partnership in the coming years, Terra Drone Turkey's annual revenues will increase significantly and it will carry Turkish Republic's actual presence far beyond by means of financially and technologically” he said.

As part of the agreement,TDT and their global partners will provide equipment and expertise to operate the unmanned and fully autonomous drone flights, employing staff in handling and technical roles. The POC flights of daily drone cargo services are expected to begin in 2022 in İstanbul, Turkey.
