Gardere Partners Honored in 2012 ‘Who’s Who in Energy’

HOUSTON – Three partners from Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP, one of the most respected full-service law firms in the Southwest, have earned selection to the 2012 “Who’s Who in Energy” listing. Timothy M. Spear joins two-time honorees Geoffrey H. Bracken and N.L. “Larry” Stevens III on the exclusive list of energy industry leaders.

Compiled by the editors of the Houston Business Journal and its sister publications in Dallas, Denver, St. Louis, San Antonio, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, the annual list includes 100 key professionals from each respective city. These individuals are experienced in a variety of areas, including law, finance and engineering. Selections were made based on open nominations, industry outreach and internal research by each publication. The complete “Who’s Who in Energy” list was published Nov. 23, 2012.

Mr. Bracken, a Trial partner, focuses his practice on commercial, construction and copyright infringement litigation. His experience includes defending numerous oilfield downhole service providers in both arbitration and jury trials. Mr. Bracken provides clients with 20 years of experience in the energy industry. He has earned selection to The Best Lawyers in America for his work in Oil & Gas Law (Contract, Litigation) for seven consecutive years.

Mr. Spear, a Corporate partner, represents domestic and international clients in acquisitions, divestitures and the financing of oil & gas properties and power facilities, including renewables, midstream properties, chemical plants and refineries. He also handles related workouts, restructuring and distressed debt transactions. Though new to the list, Mr. Spear has been active in the energy industry for 15 years, earning selection to the Texas Rising Stars list and among “Houston’s Top Lawyers” by H Texas Magazine.

Mr. Stevens, a Corporate partner, provides expertise in mergers and acquisitions law, representing clients in oil & gas exploration and production and energy services. London-based Chambers and Partners consistently recognizes Mr. Stevens as one of the nation’s top energy/oil & gas transactional lawyers in Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business. He has also received honors in The Best Lawyers in America.
