TRG participated in the 16th Annual Terry Fox Run

HCM City – November 26th, 2012 – TRG staff and interns delighted to take part in the 16th Annual Terry Fox Run to bring hope to cancer patients on last Sunday, 24th November at Crescent Area. This annual charity event is coordinated by the Canadian International School, the Canadian Consulate General and the HCMC Union of friendship organization to raise a fund for battlefield against cancer in Viet Nam.

More than 14,000 participants from residents from businesses, families to students broke through the 5-km run at Crescent Area, District 7, HCM city. Participating in this worthy battle for many years, TRG aims to raise awareness and to inspire people to bring this Marathon of Hope into reality.

Who is Terry Fox?
The Terry Fox Run is named in honor of a heroic Canadian amputee runner who attempted to run across Canada to help find a cure for cancer. Fox had his leg amputated above the knee at the age of 18 because of cancer. At 21 he decided to embark on Marathon of Hope and ran over 5,300 kilometers - the equivalent of a marathon a day for 143 days. The annual Terry Fox Run, first held in 1981, has grown to involve millions of participants in over 60 countries up to now, including Viet Nam.
