Explore New Student Scholarship Programmes Offered by RV University Amidst Covid-19 Pandemic

RV University, Bangalore establishes around 100 new university scholarships in 2021 for eligible students and those disadvantaged by COVID-19. These are being implemented from the first year of college to promote educational access. For eligible students who have lost one or both parents due to COVID-19, RVU has decided to provide a scholarship equivalent to 100% of the tuition fee. This scholarship will be provided to 10 students from each of the three schools under the university: Liberal Arts and Sciences, Design, and Economics and Finance.

School of Economics & Finance
In the School of Economics & Finance, which provides courses like B.B.A.(Hons.), B.Com.(Hons.), and B.A.(Hons.)(Economics), 10 students who earned 95% or higher in their 12th Standard or Pre-University Course (PUC) examination will get a 100% tuition fee scholarship. Scholarships worth 25% of the tuition fee will be awarded to 25 students in the B.B.A.(Hons.) and B.Com(Hons.) programmes, as well as 15 students in the B.A. (Economics) programme, who achieved between 80% and 95% on their qualifying exams.

School of Liberal Arts & Sciences
A total of Rs. 15 lakhs has been set aside for new scholarships in 2021 for students in the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences for the current academic year. Candidates who meet the academic requirements and have demonstrated outstanding co-curricular and extra-curricular activities on a national and international level are qualified to apply for these university scholarships. The amount of the award is set by the Scholarship Committee of RVU and is proportionate with the student's achievements.

School of Design
A sum of Rs. 15 lakhs has been set aside in the School of Design to give these new scholarships for students pursuing four-year B.Des and two-year M.Des degrees in 2021-22. These scholarships will be provided depending on their performance in the UCEED (Undergraduate Common Entrance Exam for Design) and the DAT (NID Design Aptitude Test). Those with a UCEED rank of 1-400 or a DAT score of 81-100 will receive 50% of their annual tuition price as a scholarship. UCEED Rank 401-800 and NID-DAT marks of 66-80 will receive a university scholarship of 30% of the annual tuition charge. Individuals with a UCEED rank of 801-1500 or an NID-DAT score of 51-65 will get a scholarship worth 15% of their tuition.

Alumni Scholarships 2021
The RV University has established Alumni Scholarships worth Rs. 25,000 per annum for students who have studied at any of the RV colleges previously and have completed their first degree/certificate from RV Educational Institutions. Moreover, if students fare well in their subjects in a particular academic year and maintain outstanding attendance and behaviour, they will be eligible for the scholarship in consecutive years also.

Scholarship for Children of RV Employees
A student whose parent is a full-time employee of the Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust or RV Educational Institutions (RVEI) is entitled for a scholarship of Rs.25,000/- every year. It will be renewed in subsequent years if the parent remains in service and the student passes all of the subjects in that academic year while maintaining good attendance and behavior.

These scholarships will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. If the student performs well in the first year, the scholarship will be renewed. Students can apply for any one of the scholarships listed above.

Mr. D.P. Nagaraj, Pro Vice Chancellor of RV University and Joint Secretary of RSST, welcomed this move. He was quoted saying, "The Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust is a public charitable organization, and we are deeply committed to improving the access to education of all students during the current pandemic. These scholarships only serve to reinforce our commitment to society. The number of scholarships available will grow in the coming years.”

The Pro Chancellor, RV University and Secretary of RSST, Mr. A.V.S.
