Filtronic provides ISO Class 5 mobile clean room for sensitive manufacturing environments

A sensitive production environment can have both clean air and a flexible layout with Filtronic’s CBC-R Mobile Clean Room. This system employs a clean air curtain in front of the cabinet to prevent dust and particles from entering the work area, along with providing filtered air inside the cabinet that is ISO class 5 certified. The CBC-R Mobile Clean Room is installed on top of an existing work bench, allowing for flexible placement with in a facility.

Air is taken in from the back of the cabinet and passes through a HEPA class 14 filter before entering the cabinet work area. The air curtain in the front of the CBC-R prevents dust and particles from entering the cabinet that would otherwise compromise product quality. The combination of the HEPA filter and air curtain technology ensures an ISO class 5 work area. Compared to common laminar flow systems, using the improved technology of an air curtain requires less powerful air blowers to create a clean room environment. This results in low energy costs and quiet operation. The CBC-R’s bench top installation allows managers to position it exactly where a clean room is needed, eliminating costly permanent clean room construction and reduces material handling within the facility.

Filtronic’s mobile clean room incorporates several features for a safe and ergonomic processing area. The sash-less front provides easy operator access and movement. Operators can make use of the full work area without the impairment of a front sash, increasing productivity. The air curtain’s low downward flow is more comfortable for operators than traditional laminar flow systems. Personal temperature fluctuations and draft discomfort are not an issue, as air is not blowing directly on the operator. A well-lit work space measured at 4000 lux reduces eyestrain and promotes accurate, precise manufacturing. The CBC-R is available with an opaque or transparent back panel, depending on an operator’s preference and facility lighting.
