SmartTOP roof module for the new Porsche Carrera 991 Convertible available from December 2012

The SmartTOP convertible top add-on module for Porsche Carrera 991 Convertible offered by Mods4cars will be available beginning December 2012. With this module installed, the convertible top can be opened and closed while driving at slow speeds by just tapping the switch once. Thanks to the remote one-touch function one key press on the original key fob is all that is required to activate the top operation; gone is the annoyance of having to continually depress the top control button. An easy installation is guaranteed because of the specially developed plug-and-play wiring adapter.

Las Vegas, Nevada – November 13th 2012

From December 2012, the SmartTOP roof top module offered by Mods4cars will be available for the new Porsche Carrera 991 Convertible. The aftermarket add-on module allows one-touch convertible top handling, which means the roof can be opened and closed with just one short key press on the console button. Since the need to continually depress the top control button is history, the top operation can be completed quickly. Due to this simplification, the car can be used open more frequently.

The installation of the Mods4cars module allows the opening and closing of the roof from the original key fob via one-touch-function. With a short key combination the convertible top moves into the desired position, while the driver can already get in the car and start the engine. Additionally the windows can be opened or closed separately via factory remote fob.

“In addition to the main functions our module has many more features, which we developed upon customers’ requests.” says PR manager Sven Tornow. As a result of these requests a keyless-top handling was built in, which allows keyless-go owners to open or close the convertible top by touching the driver door lock button. Apart from the top, also the wind deflector can be operated with a one-touch function and can be programmed so that it raises automatically after the convertible top opens.

All windows can be raised or lowered simultaneously by touching the buttons in the driver door. Starting the engine or turning the ignition off while the top is moving will not interrupt the operation and the complete removal of the entire module is possible at any time. The SmartTOP roof top module comes equipped with a standard USB connection, which allows to individually adjusting the features via PC or MAC and installation of firmware updates. Those updates will always be offered online by Mods4cars for the life of the product and free of charge.

For an easy installation the roof top module ships with a special developed plug-and-play wiring adapter. A perfect and secure fit provides a simple connection between the car electronics and the SmartTOP module. There is no need to cut any wires, meaning the removal of the entire kit is possible without leaving any traces.

SmartTOP modules are available for the following brands: Alfa, Audi, Bentley, BMW, Ferrari, Ford, Infiniti, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Mini, Nissan, Opel, Peugeot, Porsche, Renault, Volvo and VW.
