On November 2nd and 3rd, 2012, the international recruitment company AIMS International, which ranks among the top 10 Executive Search companies globally, celebrated its 20th anniversary at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Düsseldorf in the media harbor. In Germany, the Executive Search industry is better known – or prejudiced – under the title headhunting. Why? The best management employees of competitor companies are identified on behalf of the clients by the direct search firm, addressed directly and acquired for a change to the client company after a thorough examination.

Originally a company founded by three direct search (/ Executive Search) consultants as a business network, AIMS International has developed into a global partnership with more than 90 offices in over 50 countries over the years. Drivers of this development were the AIMS International entrepreneurs in each country and centrally the AIMS International Board.

The perspective of this EMEA meeting even goes beyond the regions Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

In addition to the 25 directors of AIMS International organizations in the EMEA region, there will also be CEOs from USA, Brazil, Japan, China and Australia in Dusseldorf. And there will be guests like Dr. Stephan Schulmeister. The former Austrian economist from the Austrian Institute of Economic Research (WIFO) is a well known speaker in Europe who will present a medium-term forecast for the economic development in Europe, the financial markets and international trade.

What is the basis for the continued positive development of AIMS International?

It is an important factor, says Christian Schulte, that the structure of the search organization meets important needs of the market: a company that wants to develop additional international locations and to expand in partially unknown regions, evaluates direct search firms as valueable partners which they can trust to find the best leaders in the target markets. These companies need partners who can offer them similar services on a global level – preferably with consistent quality based on the same processes, which are flexible enough to be adapted to the local level.

How did AIMS International manage to entice employees with international or global HR responsibility from reputable companies such as 3M, Bayer MaterialScience AG, Drägerwerk AG, Areva, Ricoh, Illinois Tool Works or Metso Corpration to participate?

Rolf Heeb reported that the targeted exchange with experts from around the world, which will be the focus of the event, is incentive enough. Each Global HR manager is keen to benefit from the experience of colleagues in other publicly listed companies, if they are not in direct competition. So the lecture by Bruno Meduri, Global HR Business Partner PUR P & T at the Bayer MaterialScience AG, will deal with the challenges of the digital generation to a company such as Bayer AG and show what solutions Bayer has found to offer an attractive employment to the now growing generation of manager. This involves much more than monetary incentives.
