Nexthermal announces the eheat energy efficient cartridge

Nexthermal announces the availability of a new high efficiency cartridge heater - the eheat cartridge heater.

"The cartridge heater is a proven product with extensive industry use" states Ken Sunden, Nexthermal Sales and Marketing Manager. "Our customers have become increasingly concerned about energy efficiency from cost containment and environmental perspectives."

Creating a high efficiency cartridge heater was not an easy assignment for Nexthermal R&D Manager Jeff Wheeler. "We could see an emerging need from our customer base. We knew we needed to challenge conventional thinking for a product that has been refined over the course of more than 60 years. When we were able to measure 25% energy savings in the lab, every OEM we spoke with has expressed interest in testing the heater in their equipment."

The real world testing confirmed what the lab indicated. In demanding packaging applications, the Nexthermal eheat showed greater than 25% energy savings.

R&D Manager Jeff Wheeler learned a great deal when he attended the trials. "Nexthermal intended to develop an energy efficient cartridge heater. The eheat delivers heat faster to an application. It can perform the same work, faster-with a lower heater core temperature. Lowering the heater core temperature can extend heater life."

Nexthermal customer tests revealed additional important eheat benefits including:

• Designing with eheat lowers total system amperage reducing required size, complexity and cost of supporting components
• Faster response times reducing start up times and increasing productivity
• Ability to perform the same work with lower watt density on the sheath reducing watt density related field failures in space claim constrained applications such as hot melt adhesive applicators

Kumar Bandyopadhyay further stated, "Through the creativity and commitment of our employees Nexthermal delivers unique, forward thinking colutions. It is exciting to see the future minded collaboration and innovation taking place within Nexthermal. The eheat cartridge heater is exciting to our customers. I can assure you, Nexthermal is just getting warmed up".

Boldly, Nexthermal will be running the eheat cartridge heater and conventional cartridge heaters live during the 2012 PackExpo, to demonstrate energy savings first hand. "It is a great way to demonstrate the clear advantage of the eheat live to customers who need this capability" Jeff Wheeler stated. "We are looking forward to having discussion specific to the packaging market."
