MEDICA 2012: Discover High-Performance Matrox Video Management Technologies for Every Hospital Department

Explore latency free fiber-optic KVM extension, collaborative video wall and video distribution over IP solutions for ER, OR, oncology, digital signage, training and more

Montreal, Canada, November 6, 2012 — Matrox Graphics Inc. today announced that Matrox Mura MPX video wall controller boards, Matrox Avio™ F120 KVM extenders, and Matrox Maevex™ video distribution over IP technology will manage, extend and distribute digital video content for a variety of in-hospital environments at MEDICA 2012, stand #15D42.

The latest high-performance Matrox hardware solutions will power a wide range of high-resolution NEC and Rein Medical monitors alongside the impressive 56” Optik View 8 Megapixel surgical display, while also capturing and displaying content from video cameras such as the GIMMI ALPHANOVOCAM full-HD endoscope. Matrox staff will also showcase advanced multi-monitor systems designed for medical, administrative, and informational/promotional deployments. Attendees are encouraged to stop by and see how these solutions can be used in their emergency room, OR/hybrid operating room, and general IT infrastructures to distribute their radiology and video sources for training/collaboration, digital signage and video conferencing applications.

Matrox Avio F120 KVM extenders consist of a transmitter and receiver pair that extends uncompressed dual-HD video, keyboard, mouse, and audio from the host system by up to 2 km via a single fiber-optic cable. Avio’s uncompressed transmission maintains system performance and ensures the playback of HD, 2K, and 4K video without any dropped frames or added latency. Users can also access the host computer via a second desktop connected to the transmitter unit for maintenance purposes or to share the remote desktop on a collaborative video wall.

The Matrox Mura MPX Series makes no compromises as it redefines the future of collaborative video walls and wall matrix management. Engineered to deliver unparalleled performance, image quality, and scalability, Mura MPX Series output/input boards feature highly flexible, universal input channel support for both digital and analog (DVI, RGB/VGA, Component, S-Video & Composite) video signals. Setting the bar for collaborative video wall applications, the Mura MPX HD image capture and display of uncompressed data ensures impeccable quality of text, video, and graphics. Mura MPX high-density analog video capture cards provide additional NTSC/PAL/SECAM input channel support, while the Mura MPX-SDI board includes support for two 3G SDI video inputs and two DVI outputs.

The Matrox Maevex Encoder/Decoder video distribution over IP solution delivers one-to-one unicast or one-to-many multicast of Blu-ray quality video extension and playback over existing TCP/IP networks. The Encoder provides open H.264 encoding and allows for Decoder playback, as well as independent software-based playback from a wide variety of devices. The Decoder can also act as a standalone player device, driving content from local or networked sources. Matrox PowerStream software meanwhile lets users remotely adjust, manage, monitor, and schedule the Maevex network and streams.

Demonstrations of the Matrox Avio F120, Matrox Maevex, and Mura MPX solutions will be provided at MEDICA 2012 at Matrox stand #15D42 (Hall 15, Booth D42).
