RisingMax the fast growing IT company is planning to adapt 4.5

The idea of a 4.5 day work week has been discussed for a long time. The pandemic has disrupted work schedules and has also raised concerns about employee burnout and reignited debate about how modern work should evolve.

According to numerous studies, countries with the most working hours have the lowest employee productivity, while countries with the shortest working days have the highest productivity.

RisingMax, an IT consulting firm, has switched to a 4.5 day work week, which it claims will increase productivity. The firm will close its New York office on Fridays as a pilot project to improve productivity for the next seven months.

If the move makes employees more productive and happy, the company plans to make the policy permanent.

RisingMax said it conducted an internal survey and found that 80% of its employees were willing to work four days a week for longer hours in exchange for a more extended weekend to focus on personal commitments and growth.

"It's all about maintaining high execution standards while also prioritizing the health and well-being of the team," said Gurpreet Singh Walia, founder, and CEO of RisingMax.

RisingMax, based in New York, specializes in vulnerability management for businesses.

Companies worldwide have advocated for a four-day workweek since the coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak. Some of them, particularly in the Nordic region, has gone so far as to implement the change.

According to surveys conducted in the United States, a 4.5 day work week would make people more aware of their professional responsibilities while increasing productivity.

The central government is also working to change labor laws, which could increase employee working hours from nine to twelve hours and a change in the in-hand salary.

According to reports, the new code will allow employers to work for four days instead of the current five days if they work 12 hours per day. Through the Employees State Insurance Corporation, the Centre has also proposed free medical check-ups for workers.
