Successful Cooperation

Now it is official. At this year’s ebace in Geneva at the end of May a cooperation contract between The Tablet Store and Jeppesen was signed by both companies.

The Tablet Store was already present at AERO 2007 as an independent consultant at the Jeppesen booth in Hall 3. The debut of the new JeppView 3.5 for all 6 presentation points was demonstrated exclusively on a choice of Tablet PCs of different brands. “A total success” said Holger Stenzel, the Jeppesen GmbH Product Manager Electronic Services for Business and General Aviation.

From the start of the fare the Jeppesen booth was swamped by people, to the extent that visitors were queuing in rows to watch the demonstration of the new Jeppesen electronic navigation solutions. This situation hardly changed until six o clock when the exhibition closed. This is an outcome that underlines status and success of this kind of presentation as well as the innovative JeppView 3.5.

Due to their cooperation with The Tablet Store, Jeppesen was able to present JeppView 3.5 for the first time on devices which are optimal for their software’s purpose.
On display were the 8” models of PaceBlade and Motion Computing which are the most suitable for use in airplane cockpits due to their configuration and design.

With the full performance of a common notebook and the measurements of a small writing pad, these type of devices set the ideal basis for the use of electronic navigation solutions in cockpits.

Combining the Tablet PC with the wide range of functions of the JeppView 3.5, the complete flight preparation and execution as well as the required documentation can be undertaken easily and with only one device by the pilot.
One particular feature of JeppView 3.5 is the Inflight application “FliteDeck”. By using a GPS receiver , the pilot has the option of using a “moving terrain” function which provides him with all necessary information he may need during a flight. He can activate documentation files as well as approaching charts of the airports. The Information is displayed on a “moving map”.

Furthermore he can use the Tablet PC for all other common software applications. This is of interest to professionals travelling by plane who do not wish to carry two devices. An efficient weight reduction!

Based on this success The Tablet Store and Jeppesen were able to continue this trend at the ebace in Geneva. At this largest trade fare for business aviation the representatives of both companies utilized the occasion to sign a cooperation contract.

Jeppesen customers now have the possibility to seek independent consultancy provided by the specialists of The Tablet Store who offer the full range of Tablet PCs available on the market.

The ebace was also used for presenting the new Motion Computing LS800 with Solid State Drive. This UMPC sized Tablet PC is equipped with 32 GB hard disk, which no longer includes any rotating parts. Limitations due to unpressurized cabins at high altitudes are a thing of the past . Also battery runtime and heat progression were improved. Data access was increased manifold when compared with common hard disk drives. Furthermore, the devices Panasonic CF-19 and PaceBlade`s P8 were displayed.

Based on the business relationship between Jeppesen and The Table Store a new source of supply for complete pilot systems was created. An EFB (Electronic Flight Bag) of the latest Generation.

In the near future, as an authorized Reseller of Jeppesen Software, The Tablet Store will offer complete and adjusted packages including the Jeppesen Software and Hardware.
