IO-Link – A Smart Connection. New IO-Link Technology Entry-level Products
MESCO IO-Link Diagnostic box, StarterKit and Monitor
The IO-Link Monitor which is included in the Starter Kit serves the purpose of analysing communication process, strings, cycle time and frame-specific properties of the IO-Link communication between master and slave. The communication process can therefore also be checked against existing standards and specifications. The IO-Link Monitor is also available separately.
The IO-Link Diagnosis Box expands the IO-Link Starter Kit in reading and writing of parameters through the capability of slaves running in the field. Owing to its function as an IO-Link Master, checking of baud rate, mode, parameters, operating status and errors is possible at any time.
All components support Physics 2 (three-wire system), all baud rates (4.8 / 38.4 / 230.4 kBaud) and all data protocols of the IO-Link specification. In the case of the Starter Kit Master, connection of a Fieldbus gateway by means of an UART is provided for. An option and support for PC communication via USB has been integrated in the stack. The IO-Link Diagnosis Box, being a handheld unit, can be operated either off rechargeable batteries or mains power (24 V DC). The status data, default parameters and error messages of the slaves are visualised through LED and LCD, and can be edited and written (not read-only parameter) and also password protected parameter data (0 to 31) can be changed.
Included in the delivery of the IO-Link Starter Kit are:
- Hardware modules master and slave
(incl. ready-to-operate IO-link Firmware)
- Circuit diagrams for master and slave
- Firmware stack source code slave
- PC software for configuration and parameterisation
- Development documentation
- IO-Link Monitor
- PC software "IO-Link Monitor"
- 2 x USB connection cables
Included in the delivery of the IO-Link Diagnosis Box are:
- Diagnosis box
- 4 rechargeable batteries (type AA 2500 mA)
- 24V connection
