4G Identity Solutions wins contract for Supply, Installation and Integration of biometric system with Immigration, Visa and Foreigners Registration & Tracking (IVFRT) System

Hyderabad, September 4, 2012: .4G Identity Solutions (4Gid) has announced that it has been selected by National Informatics Centre (NIC), Department of Information Technology (DIT) Government of India for Supply, Installation and Integration of biometric technology for the Immigration, Visa and Foreigners Registration & Tracking IVFRT system of India. As part of the project, 4Gid would be supplying 4-4-2 Fingerprint devices, Single Fingerprint devices, SDKs for enrolment, segmentation, quality check and Minex Complaint Algorithm for minutia based matching.
Earlier in March 2012, NIC has invited bids for and on behalf of the President of India for “Empanelment of Agency for Supply, Installation and Integration of 4+4+2 Fingerprint Biometric Capture Devices and Single fingerprint scanner with IVFRT system”. 4Gid was selected after stringent technical evaluation that was carried out mainly on the basis of demonstration of Integration of the 4+4+2 FP biometric device with the Immigration, Visa, Foreigner Registration and tracking system followed by financial evaluation.
Immigration, Visa and Foreigners Registration & Tracking (IVFRT) Project has been taken up by Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India under the National e-Governance Project (NeGP) as one of the Mission Mode Projects (MMPs). The core objective of the IVFRT System is to develop and implement a safe, secure and integrated service delivery framework that facilitates legitimate travelers while strengthening security. The integration of biometric system with IVFRT will enable enrolment of the traveler’s biometrics and subsequent verification of their identity at different Immigration check points thereby enabling effective identification of travelers.
