• The first ever liquefied hydrogen ship to make its debut at a shipyard in Japan was in December 2019. Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd. named the tanker Suiso Frontier. The ship is a small step towards tapping hydrogen's carbon-free energy capacity. The vessel will be used to create an international supply chain for hydrogen energy by shipping fuel to Japan from Australia. It is estimated that the building will be finished in the late 2020s.
• Hylium Industries launched the first-ever mobile refueling station for liquid hydrogen in July 2018. The K-ICT Born2Global Centre can store up to 7,500 litres of low-pressure liquid hydrogen and is able to fuel up to 100 cars powered by hydrogen per day. One benefit of the station is that it removes the need for a cooling system and a compressor, thereby enabling equipment and driving costs to be greatly reduced.
