arvato Systems and ABB Expand Collaborative Partnership

New Partner for Newspaper and Magazine Cooperation

(arvato Systems) Gütersloh, Germany – arvato Systems and ABB, one of the leading technology groups in power and automation technologies, have joined forces to implement another customer solution. The Rhein-Main publishing group, a regional daily newspaper publisher and media company, successfully implemented an IT project focused on the sale, storage, and insertion of inserts at the beginning of June.

The ‘ABB MPS Insert Manager’ offers all the features required to professionally process insertion orders. Features include capacity planning, order management, optimization of insert positions, distribution to individually defined zones, incoming inspection and management of deliveries, and temporary storage of insert products.

This year, ABB was represented at the Rhein-Main publishing group by arvato Systems as a business partner for the first time. arvato Systems also supported ABB with the connection of the software to the customer’s own SAP system.

The project involves cooperation in the overall design, integration of the SAP system, specifying the defined ABB interfaces, and support in adapting interfaces, tests and during implementation.

arvato Systems and ABB would like to further expand their partnership in the future. The next step is for the two companies to jointly exhibit at ‘media.expo 2012 – The Publishers Market’ on 5 September.
