Amaris Group Limited a green tech investment vehicle that invests in businesses who bring a technology focused approach to sustainability whilst addressing the world’s climate emergency, announced that it has acquired a financial interest in Play It Green, a community driven carbon offsetting subscription service that helps lower carbon footprints through tree planting subscriptions and sustainability education.

This transaction is part of the Amaris Group’s ongoing acquisition and investment strategy to advance sustainable technology companies to meet their own key objectives whilst adding further value to the group’s investment portfolio.

Play it Green, headquartered in Manchester was created to provide an easy way for consumers, business, sports clubs, education, and social groups to understand and re-balance its carbon footprint. Members can sign up to offset their everyday carbon footprint whilst learning how to reduce their impact on the environment.

Using their unique digital forest garden, users can offset their daily carbon impact and understand the wider benefit that this brings to communities and the environment. Using weekly tips and community engagements programmes, users begin to understand the impact of climate change and the steps they can take to help reduce carbon emissions and build a path towards Net Zero. Customers can also support good causes and promote engagement through several social interaction tools to highlight or encourage other individuals or groups to better understand their own carbon impact and what they can do to be more sustainable.

The investment in Play it Green will allow the business to scale both its technology and talent recruitment significantly quicker than planned which was key to the Amaris Group considering the environmental and social impact the business provides.
