New in 2012: CAKE TEC – the Trade Congress on Industrial Cake Production

30 years ago, “Yes Torty” ushered in a new era for the baking industry. Ever since then, small cakes and tartlets have established as “snacks” on the market and the industry has permanently been looking for innovations in this growth sector.
CAKE TEC Congress from 6 to 7 Nov 2012 in Solingen, which in 2012 will address all aspects of the target market of industrial cakes and tartlets for the first time, accounts for the market segment’s progressive trend.

The focus will be on the “Conservation” topic. Amongst other issues, this comprises product preservation by making use of both, appropriate raw materials as well as hygienically immaculate manufacturing
processes. However, packaging as warrantor of extended shelf life and “guaranteed tastiness” are another agenda item. Furthermore, CAKE TEC Congress will address fibers, fat contents and allergen potentials.

As common with all Congresses hosted by ZDS, the latest market trends – in particular with respect to volatile commodity markets – will of course be on the agenda, too.

For this premiere congress, we managed to gain proficient contributors from renowned enterprises (such as ACC American Consulting Corp., Danisco, Puratos, Beneo Kerry Ingredients, Cargill), speaking on topics
like commodities, production and mechanical engineering.

Since 1951, the ZDS Central College of the German Confectionery Industry has distinguished itself as an institute for training and further education for the entire confectionery sector. In the 60 years of the college’s existence, more than 5,000 apprentices, trainees and master craftspersons have passed through its numerous courses of training and
education. And not a few of them have gone on to take up leading positions in the firms of the German confectionery industry.
