The problem with infographics is the same as with most effective digital marketing tactics. The practice is practically saturated. This means you cannot throw some stats together and then get backlinks as fast as this practice used to work.

One of the big reasons why infographics are so effective in digital marketing is that the information offered is more likely to be remembered than when you simply hear the information. When information is paired with an image, as long as the image is relevant, 65% of the data included is retained by the reader for at least 3 days. This practically means that a content marketing strategy with infographics can more easily educate the audience than without it.
At the end of the day, people that get directions through both text and illustrations will do up to 3 times better in following those directions than when illustrations do not exist. This is a big part of the reason why infographics are still being developed and used in campaigns right now. Smart marketers, both B2C and B2B use them to basically educate the viewers and drastically increase the possibility of making a conversion.
There is no reason why you should not use infographics in digital marketing in 2021. They do take time to create and you will have to invest more than with regular articles. However, you still get to invest less than with other forms of content used in marketing, like videos.
The difficulty is often to create very good infographics, not to use them appropriately. But this can easily be done with the use of the services of those marketers and designers that have experience with the creation of effective infographics.
