Security at the core: Avenga ISMS Committee

Avenga, a global IT and digital transformation company, held its first internal Information Security Management System Committee (ISMS) meeting.

The Avenga ISMS Committee is a permanent collegiate organization that was created with the purpose of covering all the company’s activities within the scope of information security across all the Avenga markets (US, DACH, UA, PL). The ISMS Committee participates in the management system review on an annual basis as security is one of Avenga's major priorities.

Pavlo Umanets, Director of Group Operations, stated, “It is crucial for the top management to be involved in the strategic security decisions and raise the security awareness level all over the company, show leadership and commitment, communicate important aspects of company ISMS, adopt and inherit security culture across the company. That’s why the decision was made to have unified security standards across the Avenga Group and bring it together with the well known ISO27001 “Information Security Management System” certification.”

On May 25th, the Avenga ISMS Committee held its first internal meeting with Avenga Group’s top management, country managers and the information security global team. The purpose of the meeting was to define and approve a strategic action plan for 2021. The Committee agreed to pursue strengthening of the security goals across the company. Further steps will include the unification of common policies and global security approaches, continuous implementation of ISMS across all departments, and ensuring the highest level of data protection and compliance with standards like GDPR, ISO 27001, etc. across the Avenga Group. This will provide data confidentiality and integrity internally, and will deliver client projects in a secure environment with all mandatory controls implemented and maintained.

Avenga US LLC achieved ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification in 2020, which is an internationally recognized standard that provides a framework for ISMS, certifying that Avenga US LLC applies a systematic approach to managing sensitive information and ensuring data security. Avenga is close to ISO 27001 certifying the entire Avenga Group.
