Central Florida Cancer Institute Achieves National Accreditation as a Breast Center

Davenport, FL, May 13, 2021: The Central Florida Cancer Institute has been granted a three-year, full accreditation designation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC). In 2019, an estimated 268,600 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed among women and approximately 2,670 cases will be diagnosed in men. Source: American Cancer Society

Accreditation by the NAPBC is only granted to those centers that have voluntarily committed to provide the highest level of quality breast care and that undergo a rigorous evaluation process and review of their performance. During the survey process, the center must demonstrate compliance with standards established by the NAPBC for treating women who are diagnosed with the full spectrum of breast disease.

The National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) is the driver for developing quality breast centers across the country. Breast centers with this accreditation meet these standards and actively work as a team to ensure quality breast cancer care in their respective communities.
