This just in: Ladies Who Lunch has enjoyed a healthy, satisfying launch. The debut novel by Josef Woodard, veteran music/arts scribe, musician/songwriter and general creative mischief-maker, was officially released on April 20th on the Household Ink imprint. Book-christening events included a zoom-versation via Chaucer's Books, a signing-reading at the Mesa Bookstore’s 4th anniversary wingding (both events facilitated by author/Mesa Bookstore owner DJ Palladino), and the support of a generous contingent of customers and curiosity seekers.
Self-described as a satirical and possibly Gonzo romance novel, with mid-90s Los Angeles and showbiz buzz as recurring characters, had the Santa Barbara press chiming in:

Author Josef Woodard is a veteran cultural critic, who wrote for the Los Angeles Times for 25 years, has contributed to Rolling Stone, Entertainment Weekly, DownBeat and many music magazines, and a long association with the Santa Barbara Independent and News-Press. To date, he has published two books for Silman-James Press, on jazz legends Charles Lloyd and Charlie Haden, respectively. He is also a musician, a guitarist, songwriter, and head of the Household Ink Records label. This is his first novel.
