Children deprived from nature - a threat and opportunity for today´s societies
Connecting with nature awakens health and vitality and helps children to discover their own gifts and talents. Other than in digital games, they can cultivate their personal relationship with nature, enjoy the discovery of new skills and passion. Children out in nature will learn to appreciate the diversity of life experiences, ideas, backgrounds – and bring their experiences back into their communities, be it the family, neighbourhood, school class or local community.
EUROPARC Federation and its members are well aware of this challenging situation. At the EUROPARC2012 conference workshop “Child meets Wild” experts and practicioners will be explore how young people can be re-connected with nature and biodiversity.
