10-Strike Software has announced a major update of 10-Strike Network Inventory Explorer 5.0, powerful inventory software for maintaining an inventory database on Windows network computers, reporting, auditing, and monitoring installed hardware and software on the computers.

The program provides network administrators with an effective solution to keep vigilant watch on a company´s computer park and to be aware of how the computers´ operating systems and antivirus programs are updated, what new software is installed, what new shortcuts appear in the startup folder, and even what hardware is changed. These abilities help the company to increase the security level significantly. The administrator gets notifications on all the changes via email and can prevent a lot of problems before the situation goes out of his control.

10-Strike Network Inventory Explorer is designed to audit hardware and software assets over the network and provide you with detailed and accurate reports on all the data gathered by the program. With the extensive reports provided by the program, a system administrator can plan upgrades more accurately and decrease the upgrade costs. The program helps the administrator to find out what to upgrade without wasting time and effort on checking everything manually. The license audit feature helps to count installed applications, check the proper use of registration keys, and find unlicensed or denied software installed by users.

The main change in the version 5.0 comparing to previous versions is the complete data gathering process redesign. Now, the program can monitor network computers in the background mode automatically. The administrator does not need to start the program in order to get new notifications anymore. The data collecting engine has become more reliable and stable thanks to the new architecture and new additional processes and services. 10-Strike Network Inventory Explorer´s web UI was detached into a separate service. So, again, the administrator does not need to start the program to access the program´s inventory database via web from a remote PC or a mobile device. Another new useful feature is the ability to create reports in the web UI. Now, administrators are able to create reports on the move with an iPad, laptop, or other mobile device.
