Creative Diagnostics Launches Fluorescently Labeled Gold Nanoparticles for Cellular Uptake

04-23-2021 09:17 AM CET | Health & Medicine

Press release from: Creative Diagnostics

With years of experience in the pharmaceutical and life science sector, Creative Diagnostics introduces a series of fluorescently labeled gold nanoparticles for efficient cell uptake, such as DiagNano™ Fluorophore Labeled Gold Nanoparticles, 10 nm, Cellular Uptake(GFL-10-CU), and DiagNano™ Fluorophore Labeled Gold Nanoparticles, 50 nm, Cellular Uptake (GFL-50-CU). These new products can be potentially used for cancer diagnostics, studies, and immunoassays.

Colloidal and intracellular gold nanoparticles can be validated by confocal microscopy. Most importantly, they are large enough that they don't need to be grown through silver or gold growth methods after the fact as post treatments are known to destroy cell ultrastructure. These newly released gold nanoparticles products show the potential for drug and oligo delivery to cells.

Creative Diagnostics DiagNano™ gold nanoparticles are coated with special cell uptake ligands which help to resolve that issue, and the special cell uptake ligand design has reduced the overall size of the construct, making it more efficient at cell uptake. DiagNano™ Fluorophore Labeled Gold Nanoparticles for cellular uptake can be used for imaging cells as fluorescent probes and obtain good cell images; the DiagNano™ cell uptake line has five-fold higher uptake than common fluorophore labeled gold nanoparticles which have just polymer ligands. DiagNano™ Fluorophore Labeled Gold Nanoparticles for cellular uptake has potential applications in cancer diagnostics, studies, and immunoassays.

One of the example included in this release is the DiagNano™ Fluorophore Labeled Gold Nanoparticles, 10 nm, Cellular Uptake(GFL-10-CU), which are 10 nm fluorophore labeled spherical gold nanoparticles. The fluorophore can be IRDye 800, Alexa Fluor 750, Alexa Fluor 680, Cy5.5, Alexa Fluor 647, Cy5, Alexa Fluor 633, Alexa Fluor 594, Texas Red, Alexa Fluor 546, Alexa Fluor 555, FITC and Alexa Fluor 488. These nanoparticles are modified with a proprietary ligand on the surface to enhance cellular uptake. This product has been sterilized and is biological free.

"The DiagNano™ Fluorophore Labeled Gold Nanoparticles for cellular uptake are available with various fluorophores, and researchers can choose appropriate one for their imaging system. These easy-to-use and highly reliable tools that are available at Creative Diagnostics allow our customers and research partners to quickly get results and we'll continue to and expand our offerings to provide our industry and academia clients nanomaterials that help scientists to address their challenges." said Dr. Jessica Waldorf, chief scientific officer of R&D department, at Creative Diagnostics.
