YMS - Best IT Innovation for four consecutive years

Duluth, GA - April 5th, 2021 - For the fourth consecutive year, Yard Management Solutions has been selected as a MHI Innovation Award Finalist for providing unprecedented visibility to shipping operations worldwide. Yard Management Solutions has been recognized in the “Best IT Innovation” award category for quantifiable and sustainable results in cost savings, revenue generation, and customer satisfaction.

Innovation is the driving force that keeps Yard Management Solutions at the cutting edge of the logistics and supply chain industries year after year. As the #1 YMS, each software feature and automation tool is built to deliver more value, reduce operational costs, and increase efficiency in every area of the shipping yard. Their cutting-edge yard management system improves real- time visibility, expedites gate check in/out, reduces yard checks, improves yard driver management and efficiencies, reduces detention and demurrage fees, and more.

To qualify for this year’s award, Yard Management Solutions submitted three new software innovations, bringing a layer of added visibility and organization to shipping yards across the globe. First, the YMS Virtual Assistant provides instant answers to questions about the yard; simply ask a question like “What trailers are approaching detention?” and receive an answer immediately. Second, the Intelligent Dock Scheduling System takes efficient planning to the next level. Easily schedule appointments to specific dock doors, or provide carriers with access to generate their own. Third, the YMS Smart Gate Entry System eliminates the need for personnel at the gate while allowing drivers to check themselves in using a kiosk display and instant QR code scanning.

MHI selected YMS as an Innovation Award finalist out of a pool of 92 submissions. Eight independent judges comprised of professionals from the material handling and supply chain industry completed the initial vetting process. Ten finalists were chosen as the most innovative products in each category - Best New Innovation; Best Innovation of an Existing Product; and Best IT Innovation.

The winners of the 2021 MHI Innovation Awards will be announced during a ProMatDX keynote session at 11:00am CT on April 12 at View all new YMS innovations here.
