TechneSiyam’s CEO MD Abu Siyam talks about CyberSecurity

MD Abu Siyam is a Blogger, Content Creator, and CyberSecurity expert. He is mostly known as TechneSiyam for his blog www.technesiyam.com where he publishes the latest news, tricks, and tips about cybersecurity and other tech. Today we talked with him about his knowledge and experience of cybersecurity.

So, we know that you are a tech blogger who writes about cybersecurity and other stuff. Can you tell us more about yourself?

“Well, I was always interested in technology from my birth. Later I came to know about cybersecurity and found it more interesting.”

What made you interested in cybersecurity and how did you learn about it?

“You know the internet is a very powerful thing but it has some weaknesses too. Everyday many cyberattacks are done. So, I wanted to know how I can stay safe from these cyberattacks. And this curiosity made me interested in cybersecurity. I have done several online courses to learn about it and my habit of researching online helped me gain more experience about cyberattacks and cybersecurity.”

You said you learned cybersecurity to stay safe from cyberattacks. Then, do you think every internet user should learn cybersecurity?

“I don’t think everyone needs to learn everything about cybersecurity. But they should know the basics to stay safe online.”

You are from Bangladesh which is a small country. Is Bangladeshi Govt. working to stop cyberattacks?

“Though Bangladesh is a small country, its government has several organizations and teams who work only to stop cyberattacks. And they are strong enough to stop powerful attacks.”

It's good news that a small country like Bangladesh can also defend against powerful attacks. But citizens also need to stay aware of cyberattacks, right? How many Bangladeshi citizens are aware of cyberattacks and how much do they know about cybersecurity?
“Yes, people also need awareness about cyberattacks. But Bangladeshis still don’t know much about cybersecurity yet. So, the government organizes and plans to organize different competitions and programs to aware people.

Last year Bangladesh’s first online e-Awareness olympiad was held. I was also part of it. I think that program helped many teenagers stay aware of cyberattacks.”

What would be your suggestion for newcomers who want to learn cybersecurity?

“As I mentioned earlier, the internet is a powerful thing. Anyone can learn anything using the internet for free. So if someone has an interest in cybersecurity he or she should research it online first. There are many programs and courses which are available for free.”
