Lipo Ride to contribute with preservation of Mesoamerican Coral Reef with Healthy Reefs Organization

Lipo Ride, a Miami based ride sharing company with strong focus on promoting an ecofriendly environment, announces the agreement with Healthy Reefs Organization in order to contribute with the Mesoamerican Coral Reef.

With every ride done through Lipo platform the company will be donating to the preservation of Mesoamerican Coral Reef.

Promoting a Conscious Community: Lipo as an Eco-Friendly and Conscious Company wants to add value to the community through education and awareness. Today, it’s important to talk about environmental protection and how with every trip we can help the Mesoamerican Coral Reef.
Coral reefs are some of the most diverse ecosystems in the world. They are not plants or rocks, they are colonial animals, on which up to 25% of marine species depend. These large underwater structures are made of the skeletons of colonial marine invertebrates called “coral”.
Each individual coral receives the name of polyp. Coral polyps live on the calcium carbonate exoskeletons of their ancestors, adding their own exoskeleton to the existing coral structure. Over the centuries, coral reefs gradually grow one small exoskeleton at a time until they become huge pieces of the marine environment.
At Lipo, we support the protection and saving of coral reefs because we see a horizon where one organization can help change the world. We want to help achieve balance with life within our planet because it is part of our mission to generate a real change.

About Healthy Reefs for Healthy People Initiative:

The Healthy Reefs for Healthy People Initiative was launched in 2003 on the premise that healthy reefs are essential to sustaining healthy people. In turn, only when local people are healthy and thriving can they be expected to protect the reefs and other natural resources upon which their livelihoods and quality of life depend.

The main goals of the Healthy Reefs Initiative are to:

Promote the adoption and application of Healthy Reefs indicators by managers, policy makers and other leaders concerned with the integrity of the Mesoamerican Reef Ecosystem;
Standardize the analysis and interpretation of reliable scientific data to improve reef ecosystem management; and Serve as an open forum for information sharing and networking among science and conservation partners.
The Healthy Reefs for Healthy People Initiative encourages dialogue and collaboration to strengthen efforts to protect the Mesoamerican Reef.
